A selection of the Kentucky Summative Assessment (KSA) questions are now available in Formative's public library! Kentucky educators can access a selection of individual questions to help students prepare for the state's annual assessments.

What is the KSA?

The Kentucky Summative Assessment (KSA) is Kentucky’s statewide testing program administered by the Kentucky Department of Education.

The assessment measures student learning aligned to the Kentucky Academic Standards and helps schools evaluate progress toward college and career readiness.

What grades and subjects are assessed on KSA?

Grades 3-8:

  • Reading
  • Mathematics
  • Writing
  • Science
  • Social Studies

High School End-of-Course (EOC): 

  • Algebra II
  • Biology
  • U.S. History

KSA assessments measure student mastery of the Kentucky Academic Standards.

How is the KSA administered?

The KSA is administered each spring in Kentucky public schools. 

Most assessments are delivered online, though paper-based testing may be available for students who require approved accommodations, as determined by the Kentucky State Department of Education.
