When Carlsbad realized their assessment system was no longer meeting all of their needs, the district—led by Callie and her team—took the time to evaluate several different platforms. They ultimately chose Formative because it could do more than deliver assessments—it could also support instruction, provide meaningful feedback, and keep teaching and assessment connected.
Even then, they kept their previous assessment system in place because so many of their existing assessments lived there. As Formative matured, they eventually felt confident making it their primary assessment platform.
